Ludwig Vintage Drums

Ludwig vintage drums are most collectible and are huge business today.Drums from 1960`s are highly popular and billions were made when selling these drums in this decade. Ringo, the drum player in Beatles was the cause of this because he wanted a Ludwig logo on his drum set when playing. That was a huge marketing benefit for Ludwig drums. Ludwig vintage drums must also have credit for developing a drum which sounded great and was in many peoples opinion the best drum ever. Some even contend that drums from this era sound better than mahogny drums from the same era.Do not compare these drums with todays "fillipinian" mahogny which is cheap and in much lesser quality. If you consider Ludwig Vintage drums it is important to know what these drums are all about. The Late 60`s and older models had a mahogny or poplar combination to form the plys.Reinforcing hoops placed on the inside top and bottom edges help the drum shell stay round for long time. Drum heads also fit very nice and loose on every vintage Ludwig drums. This can really make tuning easier assuming the bearing edges are even and the drum is in perfect shape. Store the original mount safely and whatever you do - do not drill holes or modify the shell in any way. That really destroys the value of any Ludwig vintage drums - or vintage drums in general for that matter. I recommend seeking up these drums on ebay if you want buying vintage musical instruments
